We have been running this programme since 2005, for young people who, for whatever reason, mainstream college is not a current option.

This programme includes the City & Guilds’ Level 1 suite of qualifications in Construction Skills, along with the Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment, First Aid Certificate, Working at Height Awareness and preparation and testing for the CITB CSCS Card (passport to working in UK construction). We also provide tuition in maths and English, leading to Functional Skills qualifications up to Level 2, for those in need of improving their maths and English skills.

Young people also receive mentoring, one-to-one help with applications for work, apprenticeships and the opportunity to volunteer and/or gain work experience through our new venture, Essex Youthbuilders. Students leave with a photographic portfolio of all they have accomplished, together with an up-to-date CV.
